Well, I have recently taken up the sport of geocaching. I only have 2 finds under my belt, but it has been great so far. I would have started earlier, but I have never had a GPS to be able to do it. Recently, I upgraded my cell phone to the Samsung Omnia on Verizon. It has turned out to be a great phone. At first the GPS was locked in to only use VZ Navigator, but recently it has become possible to unlock the GPS so it can be used with any number of programs. This is what brought about the geocaching bug. To learn more about geocaching visit or the Geocaching Checklist.

  1. Hello Jon

I also am a geocacher I joined a few years back but only found 33 so far. Not too good for since the time I had joined. I hope to get out there again more this summer. I have a Blackbery Curve with a GPS built in too. Love having the GPS in my phone but never tried to geocache with it yet. Maybe will give it a try this summer. =)

BTW Great looking site you have!

    1. Lol, I’ve been doing it for a little over a month and only have 2 finds. I guess that isn’t really all that great either. Yea, using my phone is ok. But its not the best. The sensitivity is hit or miss when in the woods. But it works until I can get something better and it is nice to have the paperless caching. Thanks for the compliment too!

  2. Our family loves to go geocaching. In fact we have a television show that is geocaching centric, it’s called Samuel L. Collins and the Search for Biblical Truths. I hope you will check it out. We have used the Garmin GPSmap 60CSx, but recently downloaded the C:GEO app for Android and use my Samsung Galaxy IIs, WOW! That is a game changer.
